Admissions

The King’s House School, Windsor is an independent co-educational day school, offering an integrated Christian education to children from the ages of 3 to 13. We are currently registered to admit up to 75 pupils.

As a school founded upon Christian principles, priority will be given to children who regularly attend church. However, admissions are open to children of all faiths and none.

If you are considering registering your child for admission to the school we would be delighted to arrange a personal tour of the school where you can see what we have to offer. Alternatively you are more than welcome to visit during an open morning. To book a tour please contact the School Office.

Open Days

We hold 2 open mornings each October which will give a general introduction to the school. To book a place please contact the School Office.

Point of Entry

Children can join the School at any age. They will be assessed prior to entry to determine their current ability level. Although the majority of children join in September, children can be admitted at any time during the academic year as long as places are available.

Early Years

A child may join the Pre-school for the term of their third birthday. However, they can also start the term after they turn three (see School Fees section).

If a child turns three during the summer term (April – July), a place can only be given subject to remaining Pre-school sessions being available. First choice Pre-school sessions are more likely to be available in the Autumn and Spring terms.

Registration and Acceptance

Parents are encouraged to complete a Registration Form once they have visited.  The closing date for registration will be 31st December of the preceding academic year.  Registration forms received after the closing date will be considered subject to the availability of places.

If applying for a place in the Early Years a deposit of £50 is payable which will be refunded in the first term that the child attends. For children of compulsory school age there is a £100 non-refundable registration fee, £50 for siblings. Parents of Pre-School pupils will need to confirm that they wish their child to continue into the school Reception class by the preceding 31st December, paying a £50 fee which will be refunded upon entry into Reception.

Applicants will be considered as candidates for admission following an interview with the parents by the Headteacher and one or two members of the School Management Board. As part of your application, we ask you to provide the child’s most recent school reports. We also seek your permission to contact their school and your church (if applicable) for a reference. This helps us to get to know new pupils to assess whether we can meet their needs. Parents will be informed in writing whether or not their application is successful by 31st January.

A deposit equivalent to one months’ fees is requested a term before a pupil joins us or, in the case of Early Years children the term the child is 5 years old.  The deposit will be offset against fees at the end of the child’s career at the school.

In Case Of Oversubscription

Should it arise that the School is oversubscribed then priority will be given as follows:

  • Children who, when they start at the school, still have a sibling attending the school, are part of the KCI Children’s ministry (e.g. Kids Church, Kids small groups) and whose parents are committed members of King’s Church International.

  • Children who are part of the KCI Children’s ministry (e.g. Kids Church, Kids small groups) and whose parents are committed members of King’s Church International.

  • Children whose parents can demonstrate an active role in another local church and who have a letter of recommendation from their church minister.

  • Children from the local community whose parents would like them to be educated in a Christian school.

In cases of oversubscription, the School operates a waiting list.

Induction

We hold Parent Induction evenings for new parents ahead of each new academic year.

For new pupils, the first week of the new academic year is an induction week. For those joining Early Years in the Spring or Summer Terms, we offer settling-in mornings at a mutually agreeable time during term-time.
